Still Breathing, Always Dreaming...

Hello dolls, Happy Monday!! I hope the weekend was fabulous. My weekend ended a bit on a sad note, I received news that a family friend had passed away. Am doing ok, she was my older sister's dear friend, so my sister is quite saddened. I know we'll meet again some day & if I keep her alive in my heart, she will always be here! Just sad as she leaves behind young children & family. But, it reminded me of life, how fragile it is and how it can slip through our fingers like the sands on a beach. Live life fully, laugh, let yourself be happy, enjoy the small things, family, friends, let go of hard ships, people who bring you down and run, run strong and free and discover where the wind might take you & always know matter what, love yourself and let others love you - then you will have lived a full life! I don't want to be full of sadness, but of hope, hope that one day we'll all meet again and in everything I do, those that have left this world are still with me in some way or another. I found this video the other day and had to share it, as it's quite haunting and beautiful, kind of suits my mood just now!! I hope you enjoy it & I wanted to leave the end of this with some positivity and love, may you all have a blessed and wonderful Monday :)

All love

And to leave you with some positivity for Monday!!

Sweet Things

Hello dolls, I hope you are well!! For those who celebrated yesterday's holiday, I hope you enjoyed it and are working off the food that you no doubt enjoyed ;) The wind is blowing like a boxer two stepping in the ring outside here, as the rain sprays over like whales blowing as they reach the top of the water. It's quite a mix. But, I sit here warm in my house with one of my lil' angels giggling happily with her toys. The weekend is at our doors waiting for us to come out and play, I could do with a wander outside really. I'd hope it settles enough to venture out into the woods and explore, because at the moment, the wind is far too strong and I would be blown over, hehe! But, I hope wherever you may be in the world, you are happy and warm!! The Christmas movies have started on tv, I've already watched Home Alone 1 and 2 with my girls and they loved it, hehe! Be safe & I'll have more stuff next week!!

P.S. For the doll that asked, yes I do talk on my twitter and facebook sometimes, and you are more than welcomed to join me there!! ; )

{My winter gloves bow details, My new pointsetta for Christmas time, 'Figs & Rouge' organic lip balms to keep my lips protected against the harsh winds..to be honest, the vintage-look tins got me to buy them, but the stuff is amazing, so I recommend it, warming up with a cup of tea (vintage tea cup) and a strawberry & white chocolate muffin, has jam inside it too, delicious, and my perfume of many, but it reminds me that spring is after winter, hehe}

We Give Thanks

Thankfulness..uplifting words that ring in my ears...bringing thoughts of loved ones near...and far! Those who have danced in my heart and soul and have awaken love and grace in my spirit. Their bright faces glisten in my mind's eye as the smile sways across my face. Will they ever know how much I love them and appreciate what they have done for me!?! Maybe they will in every thanks they get, hug I embrace them with, kiss I plant upon their face or lips. A husband..and two little princesses - blessings they be ♥ And those far away...how love travels oceans wide to pour sunshine in their lives and joyfulness for the memories I have with them...though they are far, they are always missed and live vibrantly in every beat of my heart. As we gather round to give thanks, I will think of all of you that have stepped into my world and left a bit of yours behind in this Dainty Doll's House!! I am thankful for each and every one of you & may we all continue to step into each other's places for time to come! Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not..I am thankful for you & wish you all the happiness and love in the world with those you hold dear!!
Love love

As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily.  The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world.  ~Terri Guillemets

I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.  ~G.K. Chesterton

You say grace before meals.  All right.  But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.  ~G.K. Chesterton

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

If a fellow isn't thankful for what he's got, he isn't likely to be thankful for what he's going to get.  ~Frank A. Clark

The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!  ~Henry Ward Beecher

Grace isn't a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal.  It's a way to live.  ~Attributed to Jacqueline Winspear

Take me...
"Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind, Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves, The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach, Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow. Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves, Let me forget about today until tomorrow." — Bob Dylan ♥

Grandiose Decay

The collection of photos by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre are mesmerizing and romantic in their baroque beauty; the decaying Detroit buildings they capture seem to beckon us to wander through their crumbling ruins, to peek into their dark corners for ghosts -- both the historical and paranormal varieties. But there is also a lingering, deep sadness attached to them, sadness for what there once was and has been lost...I'm particularly fond of them, because I come from not too far from Detroit and I can remember going there & seeing the buildings!

I wish to leave you with a fragment from Charles Baudelaire's poem "The Flowers of Evil" (in English) in which he mourns, not the old, crumbling buildings of Paris, but the new, modern construction that began taking over the city in the mid 1800's. He already saw the new city as a collection of impending ruins:

"The old Paris is gone (the face of a city
Changes more quickly, alas! Than the mortal heart)

Paris changes, but nothing of my melancholy
Gives way. New palaces, scaffolding, blocks,
Old suburbs, everything for me becomes allegory,
While my dear memories are heavier than rocks..."

Have a wonderful weekend dollfaces!!
